It's official!

Following an excellent performance of Labour and Love at the regional qualifiers, Llwydcoed Band have been promoted to the second section of the National Brass Band Championships.

The band is set to rejoin the second section after just one year in the third division of brass banding's national league system. Band chairman Kevin Johnson informed the band of the national contest panel's decision at its rehearsal on Friday night saying, "The hard work in getting to Swansea and putting in a top notch performance has borne fruit. We are back where we belong!"

The band will continue to work towards consolidating its UK position by achieving second section status in Wales. Kevin continued saying, "When the band was relegated to the third section we knew that it was not a real reflection of the band's musical ability. But we do recognise that to continue to progress we need to keep up the hard work and build an even stronger band as we fix our sights on Harrogate and to the local competitions in the coming months."

The band is thankful for the support it has received during the last year from its resident musical director Gary Davies and to Carl Saunders who supported the band's rebuilding work when the long road to promotion began.
